🚨 Police Operation – Richmond Town Centre 🚨
Yesterday, Richmond Safer Neighbourhood teams (SNt) in coordination with MPS specialist reources conducted a live facial recognition deployment in Richmond town centre.
👮 This technology was used to help identify individuals wanted for serious offences and to keep our community safe.
📍 Officers were on hand throughout the day to answer questions and ensure the operation was carried out openly and transparently.
✅ The deployment was targeted, lawful, and focused on crime prevention and public safety. We thank local residents and visitors for their cooperation and understanding during this operation.
Outcome: • 3 were wanted for as suspects for outstanding offences and failing to appear at court • 1 was arrested for an assault that occurred at Richmond train station during the operation For more information on facial recognition technology and how it works, visit: 👉 Met Police – Facial Recognition Technology
